Baptism
Baptism is a symbolic act to profess one’s salvation publicly, God commands it, but our salvation is not reliant upon it. We practice full-immersion baptism, symbolizing the death, burial, and resurrection Jesus Christ went through for us. This act occurs after the public proclamation of one’s faith.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38
The Bible
The Bible is God’s word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is inerrant truth and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Deuteronomy 4:1-2; Psalms 119:11, 89, 105; Proverbs 30:5; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 22:29; John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Romans 15:4
Holy Spirit
The presence of the Holy Spirit assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. The Holy Spirit convicts people of their sins, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment, The Holy Spirit also comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
John 15:26; 16:7-14; Acts 1:5-8; 2:1-4; 13:2; Romans 8:9-11
Communion
Communion (The Lord’s Supper) is a unique time when the elements of bread and juice express, in a spiritual way, the body and blood of Christ. Communion is taken by believers in an act of remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.
Matthew 26:26-28; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 8:36-38, 10:47-48; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 11:23-25
Salvation
The blood of Jesus Christ provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people publicly confess that Jesus is Lord of their life, and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Romans 10:9-10; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 2:8-9
